Education
School age children were taught at home for the most part, by their parents or private tutors. When they became teenagers they would go off to college or to Europe. As to most of the colonies Southern girls did not attend school. The schoold was generally small and kids learned to read from special books called "hornbooks". The children of the wealthy were best educated in the colony.Lastly the kids learned to trade so when their father retires they can continue the family buisness.
